The senior activities are organized by Bonnie
Massing. For more details contact Bonnie at the church by calling 724-588-8870.
There is no upper age limit to go with Holy Trinity's seniors and the lower age
limit is that "you must be old enough to have graduated from high school". They go
see plays at the New Castle Playhouse, go on picnics, go out to meals and
anything else that looks like fun. We'd love to have you along.
Friends of Music at Holy Trinity is a
congregationally sponsored concert series coordinated by a steering committee
consisting of congregation and community members interested in music. You can
find out more by calling 724-588-8870 and visiting the Friends of Music page on
this site.
Flying Quilts meets
every second and fourth Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Hall.
This group of sewers assembles quilts that are sent to Lutheran World Relief
once a year. Donations of time (to work on projects), materials (fabric and
yarn) and money (for shipping) are cheerfully accepted. Twice a year the ladies
have a tureen lunch.
Congregational Picnic is held on the
third Sunday in September in Pavilion #1 at Hempfield Park. We gather between
12:00 – 1:00 p.m. We eat our meal at 1:00 p.m. All who plan to attend are
encouraged to bring a casserole, salad or dessert to share and your own table
service including plates, silverware, napkins and cups or glasses. Table
covering, coffee, sugar and creamer and cold drink will be provided.
Thanksgiving for Animals is held the first weekend in
October. Members and friends of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and their
pets/animals are invited to gather for a blessing of their animals. This Service
also commemorates the life and witness of St. Francis of Assisi.
A Fall Hayride is hosted by the Parish Education Committee at
the home of B.J. and Kristy Mozes or Bob and Bonnie Massing. Hot dog roasting materials, the ingredients
for making s'mores and drinks are provided. Families that would like to bring
other food to share are encouraged to do so. Please come and join the
fun.
Twelfth Night Celebration is always held on January 5
and begins at 6:45 p.m. Twelfth Night is the final night of the 12 days of
Christmas and celebrates the final moments of the Christmas Season. Music,
poetry, carols and stories will be enjoyed along with the food and fellowship.
Plan to come and share in this moving ancient tradition. Please watch the
Messenger for more information on how to make
reservations.
Ukrainian Egg Decorating classes are offered
during Lent. A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated using a wax-resist
(batik) method. The word comes from the verb pysaty, "to write", as the designs
are not painted on, but written with beeswax. Beginners and those who have come
in the past are all welcome. You need 2 raw eggs and one dollar to cover cost of
supplies. A display holder is one dollar if you wish to display your finished
egg. Bring your eggs in an egg carton.
The First Annual All Church
Birthday Party was held on April 16, 2010. Anyone who has a birthday was

A St. Patrick's Day Luncheon was held on Wednesday,
March 17, 2010.
