Friends
of Music History and Information
The
concept of Friends of Music at Holy Trinity grew out of a Long
Range Plan in 1994 and was designed as an attempt to reach
out to the
community, sharing the Lutheran tradition and appreciation of good
music and
making a contribution of beauty to people’s lives in the area. This
connection
between the gift of Music and the Grace of God has become one in which
we make
our witness to the community. A bequest from the Ivan Romanenko estate
was used
as seed money to establish the Friends of Music at Holy Trinity program
and his
work of enhancing the cultural life of our area continues today.
Friends
of Music at Holy Trinity concert series seeks to combine the
Music and Outreach Ministries of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church to bring
live
performances of quality music to Greenville and surrounding areas and
to embody
the congregation’s desire to be a caring neighbor and a place for
personal
worship.
Friends
of Music is a gathering of those near and far, interested in
fostering quality musical offerings through this program by their
financial
gifts and support of the series. All contributions to this program are
used
exclusively for the purpose intended.
All
concerts are free and open to the public. An opportunity for a
free-will offering will be provided to those who wish to support the
series.
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is located at the corner of Penn Avenue
and
Clinton Street in Greenville, PA. The church is accessible to persons
with
disabilities and mobility issues through the doors on Clinton Street.
